Mercury Turnpike Cruiser

The Mercury Turnpike Cruiser is a two- and four-door hardtop made by Mercury in the United States for the 1957 and 1958 model years. Its weirdest quirk: The rear window retracts into the body, a feature Mercury marketed as the 'Breezeway', on a car that also had push-button transmission controls.

Named for the new Interstate Highway System and loaded with gadgets: push-button transmission controls, a trip computer and a compound-curve windshield.
