DAF 600

The DAF 600 is a small family car made by DAF in the Netherlands from 1959 to 1963. Its weirdest quirk: It has no gears. Its Variomatic is a belt-driven continuously variable transmission that 'shifts' using centrifugal weights and engine vacuum, the first in a production car since the 1920s Clyno.

The first production passenger car from the Dutch company DAF, a tiny two-cylinder sedan that hid something very modern underneath.
